About Yellow Fever
World Health Organisation (WHO) defines Yellow fever as an acute viral hemorrhagic disease diffused by infected mosquitoes. The “yellow” in the name refers to jaundice that affects some patients.

Signs and symptoms are fever, muscle pain with prominent backache, headache, shivers, loss of appetite, and nausea or vomiting.

  • Use an insect  repellent to spray yourself and clothing. Use one that works, like the Australian Product RID.
  • Use Doom Insect Killer in your room or Tented Cottage. $4 for a large spray can. Upmarket lodges on Tour will spray your room in the evening.
  • Sleep under the mosquito net presented/offered.
  • Turn the Fan on if available – mosquitoes avoid moving air.
  • Bwindi Impenetrable Forest and Mgahinga Gorilla Park in Southwest Uganda area mostly mosquito-free due to the advance/raise/elevation and cool nights.
