Day By Day Tour Summary

  • Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park
  • Day 2: Gorilla trekking and an evening cultural encounter
  • Day 3: Departure

Day 1: Transfer to Bwindi impenetrable national park

The first day of your 3 Day Uganda Gorilla Trekking Tour begins with a departure from Entebbe/Kampala. The journey from Entebbe/Kampala to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park in southwestern Uganda takes around 8-9 hours. Although it appears to be a lengthy trip, it is worthwhile since you will be able to appreciate the countryside view, which includes some of the most stunning vistas ranging from plantations, hills, and the enormous Virunga. Just keep your cameras close to you, and your driver will absolutely stop if you ask him to, so you may catch that amazing moment.

You will make an en-route stop at the Equator crossing in Kayabwe for pictures and a simple experiment before continuing to Mbarara town for lunch. After lunch, you will drive to Bwindi National Park or Kabale to spend the night at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tavern Lodge.

Day 2: gorilla trekking and an evening cultural encounter

After your early morning meal, your guide will transport you to Ruhija Park Headquarters for a briefing and join others before taking you on your gorilla hike into the jungle. This trip might range from 30 minutes to 7 hours, depending on the location of the mountain gorilla family on the given day. When you discover the gorillas, you will be able to spend one hour with them studying their behavior and taking pictures before returning to the Park Headquarters to receive your certificate confirming that you have tracked gorillas in Uganda. Stay overnight at Rushaga Gorilla Havens Lodge or Trekkers Tervan Lodge.

Day 3: Departure

After breakfast, you will be transported back to Kampala or Entebbe for your post-tour lodging, or you can fly out of Uganda on the final day of your vacation. Because you will take the same route back, you will make another stop at the Equator crossing for photos, souvenirs, or to simply relax before continuing to Kampala/Entebbe.
