Murchison Falls, located in northern Uganda, is the country’s largest conservation area, with 3840 acres. The park is spanned by the powerful River Nile and is one of the most fascinating national parks to see on your Uganda safari. Murchison Falls National Park has a variety of vegetation types, including swamps, tropical rainforests of Budongo, Savannah woodland, and grassland, which are home to a variety of wildlife such as chimpanzees in Budongo forest, lions, hyenas, buffaloes, leopards, hippos, crocodiles, the rare shoebill stock, small primates, and other savannah, marine, and forest species. Visitors to Murchison Falls National Park could take advantage of the beautiful wildlife drives and boat rides to the falls’ base and delta. This northern section of Murchison Falls National Park, known as Paraa, is teeming with wildlife, including lions, buffaloes, elephants, numerous antelopes, leopards, and much more.
