Brief information about the tour
This 6-day Kidepo Valley National Park and Murchison Falls National Park safari takes you to two of Uganda’s most beautiful national parks for animal watching. Both Murchison Falls and Kidepo Valley game parks are located in northern Uganda, where the topography is mainly flat and surrounded by large savanna grasslands that sustain a variety of animals and birds.
Day By Day Tour Summary
Day 1: Travel from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park via the Gulu highway
leave at 6 a.m with a professional tour guide from monumental expeditions, You will be travelling from Kampala to Kidepo Valley National Park for the entire day. The journey will take between 10 and 11 hours, including pauses along the way for food and stretching.
Day 2 of your 6-day Kidepo Valley: Full-day safari in Kidepo National Park
You should get up before the sun comes up, eat a short breakfast, and then go off on a lovely safari trip through the amazing nature of the Kidepo. When driving through Kidepo’s two main biomes—from the savanna/acacia grasslands of the Narus Valley in the south to the semi-arid short grass of Kidepo Valley in the north near the border with South Sudan—enjoy the beautiful sunrise over the rugged horizon and savanna/acacia grasslands and observe plenty of animals.
Kidepo National Park is well-known for its cats, some of which are found nowhere else in Uganda, including the Cheetah, Stripped Hyena, Aardwolf, Bat-eared Fox, and Caracal. Lions, Leopards, Zebras, Giraffes, kobs, Topi, waterbucks, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Oribi, and Warthogs are among the other animals. The ostrich is one of the most noticeable birds here, and it is not seen in any other Ugandan park. The famed sand river and the Kanangorok hot springs are both located in the Kidepo Valley, north of the park. If the weather permits, you will enjoy a picnic lunch by the dry sand river bed in Kidepo, which is one of the most spectacular safari experiences.

Day 3 of your 6-day Kidepo Valley: Morning safari in Kidepo National Park and afternoon Karimojong community tour
You will return to Kidepo Valley National Park early this morning for another safari adventure. On a game drive, you will explore more game paths to observe more animals and enjoy the magnificent scenery. You may also embark on a walking safari, where you will be accompanied by a park ranger on a walk to see animals up close while taking in the gorgeous countryside.
Return to the lodge for a hearty breakfast and then relax until lunchtime. After lunch, you will visit a Karamajong tribal hamlet, which is quite similar to the well-known Masai of Kenya. Learn about their customs and cultures, as well as their distinctive homes, decorations, and crafts. You will also be treated to a traditional dance performance.

Day 4: From Kidepo National Park to Murchison Falls National Park
Breakfast early, check out, and depart for Murchison Falls National Park. You should have an early lunch break in Kitgum or Gulu town. Arrive at Murchison in the late afternoon and spend the rest of the day relaxing at the lodge.

Day 5: Morning game drive and afternoon boat safari on the Nile with Murchison Falls hike
At 6 a.m., grab a snack and coffee, then head out for a morning game drive in the park to see a variety of animals and birds, as well as the lovely savanna environment. Explore the extensive grasslands in the park’s northern section, where you will encounter a high volume and variety of wildlife. Buffaloes, Lions, Uganda Kobs, Giraffes, Jackson’s Hartebeest, Oribi, Hyenas, Leopard, Baboons, Patas Monkeys, and other animals have been spotted. Birds abound, with the stunning Carmine Bee-eater and Abyssinian Ground Hornbill standing out throughout the game drive. The game drive lasts 4 hours, after which you will return to the lodge for breakfast and rest until lunch. After lunch, travel to Paraa for a Nile cruise to the foot of Murchison Falls. A pleasant 2-hour trip that allows you to see a variety of wildlife along the Nile, including Hippos, crocodiles, Elephants, and other species that come to drink and cool off in the river.
Cormorants, kingfishers, herons, fish eagles, bee-eaters, and other water birds abound. When the boat arrives at the foot of the beautiful Murchison Falls, dismount and go on a 45-minute climb from the bottom to the top of the falls. Enjoy the breathtaking views of the world’s strongest waterfall, where the Nile squeezes through a tiny 7-meter fissure between the rocks before exploding into the whirlpool below before the river continues on a tranquil route teeming with animals, as you will see on the boat ride. Meet the driver at the top and take the shuttle back to the resort.

Day 6: Transfer back to Kampala with optional Rhino tracking in Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary
Check out and go towards Kampala, stopping for lunch at the Kabarega Diners in Nakasongola.
On your drive back to Kampala, stop at the Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary for a one-hour rhino-tracking expedition. The Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary is home to Uganda’s sole wild rhinoceros. A ranger will lead you on a stroll to discover the rhinos. If you have seen all four members of the famed “Big Five” (Buffalo, Elephant, Lion, and Leopard) on the Kidepo and Murchison Falls safaris, you will be able to complete the list of the “Big Five.”
And then proceed to Entebbe or Kampala for your departure flight
