A lot of people mistakenly believe that going on an African safari requires a large sum of money, but that is not the case. Having millions of dollars to spend on every goodie in Africa won’t prevent you from having an incredible time. African safaris may be rather pricey, but we’ve compiled some recommendations to help you plan a budget-friendly vacation to Uganda without breaking the bank.
For a low-budget safari in Uganda, what are some ways to save costs?
In order to help you save money on your safari in Uganda, here are a few things you can do to have a fun vacation without breaking the bank.
You may save the most money by going on a trip with a large group.
You should plan your journey in advance. Planning ahead is essential if you want to visit during peak seasons or undertake gorilla trekking. Monumental Expeditions and Safaris is based in Uganda, so we can assist you with all aspects of planning your safari there. In order to assist us in making all the necessary preparations, we are contacted in advance during the peak season months of June, July, August, December, January, and February.
We can secure your room at a lodge or hotel if you arrive here early enough, so you won’t have to pay as much for the more costly options (particularly the lodges, since the cheaper ones are already filled).
Take a trip together. Vacationing in Uganda on a tight budget with a small group of friends or family (four or six people) is not only more enjoyable, but also easier on the pocketbook. as you travel in a group, you may save money on individual expenses by splitting the bill. This is especially true for transportation costs, which will decrease as more people use them. Other expenses, such as admission fees, meals, and lodging, will remain the same.
Motel options ranging from moderate to budget. Another important consideration for a budget-friendly Uganda vacation is lodging. Hotels and lodges that are reasonably priced or on the budget might help you keep expenses down.
Quickly find a place to stay that won’t break the bank.
Although staying in a luxury lodge or hotel is a wonderful experience, most modern tourists are on a tight budget and simply cannot afford the additional $800.00 per person, per trip cost—especially when it comes to gorilla trekking.
That is why the more reasonably priced lodges need to be reserved well in advance of the season to avoid disappointment. Lodges in Entebbe and Kampala, for instance, may be booked in advance and price anything from thirty to eighty dollars per night for a room.
Visas for Uganda. It is possible to purchase a Ugandan visa from the comfort of your own home, but doing so may incur additional expenses like as credit card processing fees, shipping costs, passport picture fees, and more. Upon arriving at Entebbe International Airport, you will not be charged any additional fees for your visa and may take USD50.00 with you.
Before contacting a local tour operator like Monumental Expeditions and Safaris to arrange your safari in Uganda or any other African country, it’s a good idea to do some research about the area to get a feel for how things work. Then, stick to your budget because the operator will keep everything within it. However, organizing inexpensive vacations to Uganda is a blast.
