The Reserve at Moremi Game
Thank you for visiting the Moremi Game Reserve. In the 1970s, the royal hunting grounds, Chief’s Island, were added to the Moremi Game Reserve, which had previously largely included the Mopane Tongue region. As a good introduction, let us provide some further information regarding this region. Cheetahs, black rhinoceros, African wild dogs, and lions are among the most imperilled big animal species that call the Moremi home.
Moremi is home to more than 1,000 plant species and 500 bird species, ranging from those that live in the water to those that live in the forest. You’re looking at one of the most abundant ecosystems in all of Africa. Because of the strong safeguards in place, the natural environment has remained mostly unspoiled.
Where can I find the Moremi Game Reserve?
Moremi Game Reserve may be reached in a half an hour or less by plane, or it can be reached by a four-wheel drive safari vehicle.

animal life
Botswana is home to an abundance of diverse species. With the exception of the reintroduced rhinos, most large African animals are readily seen in the north, where there is a greater variety of game fauna and a stable water supply, compared to the south.
BIRD SIGHTINGS
The southern African country of Botswana is a haven for birdwatchers, since it is home to more than 550 different bird species.Despite Botswana’s lack of endemic species, the country does host uncommon non-range birds and political migrants from October to April.
TIME TO VISIT BOTSWANA PROPERLY
Traveling to Botswana during the dry season (May–September) is the way to go if you want to experience true African wilderness. In the winter, you can expect milder temperatures due to the flooding of the Okavango delta (June–October), but game viewing is excellent year-round (though this may vary from park to park).
A GENERAL OUTLINE OF WHEN TO VISIT BOTSWANA
Busiest time of year: July–October
Christmas to April: off-peak
When it comes to weather, April and May are the best.
Oct.–November: The Worst Month for Weather
Climate and weather
As a subtropical desert, Botswana has six dry months and six rainy months every year.
COLD TERM
In May, June, July, August, and September, the majority of species will congregate around rivers and water holes.
WETTER TIMES
When it rains in October, November, January, March, and April, these spots will flood, making it impossible to reach other parts of the park.
THE environment
Nighttime lows of 6 °C and midday highs of 38 °C are not uncommon, and this may be quite depressing.
