What is the going rate for a gorilla permit in Rwanda or Uganda?
Each trip into Uganda’s Bwindi Impenetrable Forest or Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park requires a gorilla permit that costs $800 USD per person, while treks into Rwanda’s Volcanoes National Park cost $1500 USD per person.
The Uganda Wildlife Authority has decided not to give any discounts on gorilla trekking licenses ($600) or chimpanzee tracking permits ($150) for the years 2018 and 2019. Annually, the Uganda Wildlife Authority has reviewed its tariffs and prices.

Trekking with Gorillas
There is a daily cap on how many tourists may go gorilla trekking in Rwanda and Uganda. Doing so lessens the likelihood that the Mountain Gorillas may get infectious human illnesses and also minimizes the likelihood that they will have behavioral disturbances.
