The gorilla safari experience
It takes an entire day to drive from Kampala to the remote Bwindi National Park, including a break near the equator. You will visit one of four places on the boundaries of the national park, depending on the group that your permit is assigned to Rushaga, Buhoma, Nkuringo, or Ruhija. We arrived in Nkuringo, near the park’s southern edge.
You will spend the night there, and the next morning you will go gorilla-watching! You awaken at sunrise and begin your trek to the park, arriving at the outpost by 7:45 a.m.
After a quick briefing, we drove deep into this Ugandan gorilla tours sanctuary, where we would be oriented and given a number of guidelines, one of which is that gorillas may approach you, but you cannot approach the mountain gorillas. (Avoid contact with wild animals!) Following the orientation, you will begin your gorilla hike in the jungle with the park rangers.
Gorilla tours can last anywhere from an hour to five hours, depending on the gorillas’ movements. They are highly mobile animals that are always on the go. After the rangers locate the gorillas, you will spend one hour observing and engaging with them before returning to your accommodation.
GORILLA TOUR WITH CHILDREN?
Children under the age of 15 are not permitted on gorilla safaris. Some tour providers may try to persuade you that your youngster can be admitted if he appears large and physically fit. Do not be misled by this, since UWA will evaluate the passport, which contains the child’s birth date.
Places for Gorilla Trekking
Virtually every African country contains one or more of the desired safari species, but mountain gorillas are only found in Uganda, Rwanda, and Congo in the Bwindi Forest National Park, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, Volcanoes National Park, and Virunga National Park in Congo.

It’s a tremendously affecting event, and people must grow accustomed to it in order for the gorillas to survive.

Tracing the Golden Monkey
The Golden Monkey, a beautiful and uncommon primate, lives in the Virunga Volcanoes, which are shared by Rwanda, Uganda, and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
Visitors to Uganda’s Mgahinga Gorilla National Park in the country’s southwest may embark on a trek with a golden monkey.
Golden monkey trekking is a more intense adventure than Chimpanzee or gorilla trekking in some conditions due to its location in the highlands and the monkeys’ constant movement.
This is because they prefer eating bamboo shoots while they are still green and fragile.
Chimpanzee trekking
Kibale National Park, the world’s monkey capital, is home to about 120 habituated chimps and 1400 in the forest.
During trekking, you’ll almost always come across chimps.
Chimpanzee trekking is accessible twice daily, with the morning session starting at 7 a.m. and the afternoon session starting at 12 p.m., with up to six groups of six people each day.
Among the primates found in the forest are the black and white colobus, red-tailed monkeys, red colobus monkeys, and baboons.
The Kalinzu woodland is home to about 300 chimps, with approximately 40 of them.
In addition to chimp trekking, around 60% of hikers meet chimps in the wild.

This is a difficult walk that requires a high level of physical fitness.
Chimp trekking in the Budongo forest in Murchison Falls National Park‘s Kaniyo Pabidi area is a nice activity. ‘Chimpanzees are the most common primates in the bush, although just a few are used to tourists.
In contrast to Kibale, where permits must be reserved in advance, you may contact park officials the day before your monkey climbs at Kaniyo Pabidi.
