Rwandan Cultural Experience
Museum of Rwandan Art
One of the greatest spots in Kigali city to spend your honeymoon is the “Rwanda Art Museum” in Kanombe, which is 4 kilometers from Kigali International Airport. With effect from May 18, 2018, the Rwanda Art Museum replaced the previous Presidential Palace Museum. Contemporary artwork created by Rwandan and foreign artists is on show in the new museum. While not ignoring traditional or contemporary imaginations, the goal is to provide our guests an understanding of the uniqueness of Rwandan creativity and the evolution of the arts from antiquity to the present.
There are also temporary and movable art exhibitions at the Rwanda Art Museum. Children also love the Art Kids’ Studio, where they may practice their artistic abilities. Visitors can explore this historic structure, which was the Presidential Palace from the 1970s to the end of 2000. This cultural site also contains the aircraft debris from the presidential airplane of the FALCON 50 that crashed on April 6, 1994. You can make lifelong, magical memories with your loved one when you spend time here.
The King’s Palace visit
It’s fantastic to experience other cultures and landscapes. A traditional royal house, the King’s house is a wonderfully designed thatched home built like a beehive. Nyanza used to be the center of Rwanda and the scene of conflicts and power struggles. The monarchy was mobile for a long time, relocating the court to several places. Nyanza was the natural choice once it finally settled in one location. Up to 2,000 people lived in the kingdom’s capital, and huts were constructed using the same techniques. While on vacation in Kigali, spend a day learning about Rwanda’s history and culture.
Genocide Memorial in Kigali
One of the most popular honeymoon destinations in Kigali City is the Kigali Genocide Memorial at Gisozi, where 250,000 victims have been laid to rest. This memorial also explores genocide in the 20th century and teaches about the development of the Genocide against the Tutsi. The wall of names is an ongoing project that honors individuals who passed away. Many of the victims who lie in the graves are unknown, and many of the victims’ names have not yet been collected and recorded.
The memorial gardens offer a peaceful setting for reflecting on the history of the Tutsi Genocide. They provide guests a chance to consider how everyone of us has a personal duty to stop prejudice and mass murder. Additionally, the institution offers assistance to survivors, especially widows and orphans.
Late-Night Scenes
Kigali is a pretty new city with a fantastic selection of restaurants and pubs for couples who want to go clubbing. Before traveling to Nyamirambo for what is sure to be an entertaining evening, consider starting your evening with sunset drinks (referred to locally as a sundowner) at Choma’D, a fashionable and hip bar with lovely views, or Pili Pili Boutique Hotel. The Kimihurura district, which has some of Kigali’s greatest nightlife, is another well-liked location among expats.
Go to a milk bar.
In Rwandan culture, cows are extremely significant and represent identity, money, and success. The bride payment, often known as the marriage dowry, is still paid with cows today. As a result, milk plays a significant cultural role as well. Milk bars are small establishments that specialize in milk and are typically found in Kigali. The best milk bars are usually found in Kigali’s Nyamirambo or Kimisagara neighborhoods; they are identified as such by a drawing of a cow on the door and the words “Amata Meza,” which in Kinyarwanda means “fresh milk.” One of the greatest African experiences you can have while on vacation in Kigali City is this.
Cultural Village of Kigali

Visit the schools and markets in your area.
The biggest and busiest market in Kigali, Kimironko Market, offers a fantastic afternoon of sightseeing. In the enormous warehouse complex, hundreds of traders have set up shop, selling anything from carved masks and bedsheets to an abundance of produce that has been imported from all across East Africa. Women with big baskets on their heads will be negotiating space with you as you move in single line through narrow walkways and crouch under hanging t-shirts. Spending your vacation in Kigali city will give you a wonderful African experience.

One of the best things to do in Kigali City is to take the city tour, which includes driving around the city’s streets, bus terminals, markets, and monuments. With views of the city’s undulating hills, the broad boulevards lined with trees and the spotless squares are safe places to walk. Another name for Rwanda is the “country of a thousand hills.”
