3 Days Hike Sabyinyo Volcano

One of the eight volcanic summits that comprise the Virunga Mountain ranges, the Sabyinyo Volcano, is the destination of this three-day adventure climb. The elevation of the Sabyinyo Volcano is 3,645 meters above sea level. It takes around four hours to trek to the top of Mount Sabyinyo, so it is preferable to begin early in the morning. Given that the climb is worthwhile and offers the chance to observe a variety of primates, including golden monkeys, mountain gorillas, and other exotic creatures, depending on your luck that day, you will need to be in good physical condition. An all-inclusive adventure vacation, the three-day Sabyinyo Volcano Hike begins and ends in Entebbe/Kampala, but it can also be tailored to begin and finish in Kigali.

Day by day

DAY 01:  Pick up from Kampala/Entebbe and Transfer to Kisoro for overnight

In Kampala/Entebbe, the driver will pick you up from the hotel or airport. You will then begin your journey to Kisoro, a town near the Sabyinyo Volcano, arriving in the evening for dinner and overnight. Along the way, you will stop at the Equator and have lunch, and then continue south to Kisoro for the night.

DAY 02: Full Day Hiking Sabyinyo Volcano

You will get up early, eat breakfast at the Lodge, and then drive to the Mgahinga Gorilla National Park headquarters for a briefing. After departing for the hike, which will take you about four to five hours to reach the summit of Sabyinyo Volcano and back, you will have a number of rest periods. Following some time spent exploring atop the volcano, you will return to the starting point and make your way to the lodge for rest, supper, and overnight.

DAY 03: Departure back to Kampala/Entebbe to End the 3 Days Sabyinyo Volcano Hike

After your three-day Sabyinyo Volcano Hike, you will drive back to Entebbe or Kampala for drop-off, where you will have breakfast at the lodge. You have the option of doing a Morning Gorilla Trek or Golden Monkey in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park if you decide to end this trip in Kigali. After that, you may either head to Kigali for your flight out or drop off at the Lodge.
