6 Days Congo Low Land Gorilla Trekking.

This 6-day low-land and mountain gorilla trekking trip in Congo will take you to Virunga National Park for mountain gorilla trekking and Kahuzi Beiga National Park for low-land gorilla trekking. Day by day

DAY 01:  Arrival in Kigali

Your hotel in Kigali city and the surrounding areas will be picked up from the airport and transferred to its location.

DAY 02: Transfer to Bukavu

On the route to Bukavu in the Democratic Republic of the Congo, the driver will pick you up from your accommodation in Kigali in the morning and travel south to the Cyangugu border. You will stop at Butare to visit the Rwandan genocide memorial site, the king’s palace in Nyanza, and the country’s national museum. After lunch, continue your picturesque drive to Bukavu, which offers stunning views of Rwanda’s highlands via the tropical Nyungwe woods and a clear glimpse of Lake Kivu.

DAY 03: Lowland Gorilla tracking tour in KahuziBiega

You will embark on the amazing journey of tracking the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park in the morning. Because lowland gorillas are larger than mountain gorillas and typically take one to three hours to track, it’s an incredible experience to track them. Compared to mountain gorillas, lowland gorillas are known to stay in larger groups; if you get to see the incredible gorillas, your safari will be unforgettable! Following tracking, you will see the Tshibati waterfalls, Bukavu town, Mbayo tea plantations, the research center, and the nearby traditional homes as part of a nature walk in Kahuzi Biega Park. For dinner and the night, head back to the hotel.

DAY 04: Transfer to Bukima in Congo

The driver will pick you up from Kigali’s hotel or airport early in the morning and give you an overview of the safari. DAY 05: Mountain Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park

Your guide will take you to the Park Headquarters for a briefing after your early breakfast, where you will join other people before beginning your gorilla walk in the Virunga forest. Depending on where you are assigned to hike with the mountain gorilla family on that specific day, this trek may take anything from thirty minutes to seven hours. After locating the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour with them, observing their behavior and taking pictures. Following this, you will be required to return to the Park Headquarters to conclude your journey.

DAY 06: Drive to Kigali International Airport to end the trip

On the final day of your tour, you have the option of flying out of Kigali or being driven back to your post-tour lodging. You will make another stop at the Genocide Museum and Kigali side markets to purchase souvenirs or simply unwind before going on to Kigali because you will be returning by the same route.
