4 Days Nyiragongo and Congo Gorilla Trekking Tour.

A unique adventure awaits you on your 4-day Nyiragongo and Gorilla Trekking in Congo, which takes you into the remote woods of the Virunga National Park, one of Africa’s oldest national parks. You will walk the Nyiragongo Volcano in Congo, one of the world’s most active volcanoes, which rises more than 11,000 meters above sea level, after trekking mountain gorillas in Virunga National Park.

Day by day

DAY 01:  Kigali to Bukima in Congo

The driver will pick you up from the hotel early in the morning and give you an overview of the safari. The trip takes four hours to reach Goma town, where you will stop for lunch, after the driver transfers you from Kigali to Bukima in Congo. After lunch, he will keep driving to Bukima, where you will spend the night. Overnight and dinner.

DAY 02: Gorilla trekking in Virunga National Park

Your guide will take you to the Park Headquarters for a briefing after your early breakfast, where you will join other people before beginning your gorilla walk in the Virunga forest. Depending on where you are assigned to hike with the mountain gorilla family on that specific day, this trek may take anything from thirty minutes to seven hours. After locating the gorillas, you will have the opportunity to spend an hour with them, observing their behavior and taking pictures. Following this, you will be required to return to the Park Headquarters to conclude your journey. Following the gorilla walk, you will next make your overnight travel to Goma.

DAY 03: Hiking Nyiragongo Volcano Summit.

After breakfast in the morning, drive a short distance from Goma to Kabati, the starting site for climbing the Nyiragongo in Virunga National Park. After being briefed by park rangers, you will begin hiking the Nyiragiongo volcano, pass through the breathtaking rain forest, continue along the lava eruption fissure, and eventually reach the summit. Spend the entire evening taking in the scenery from the crate and the lava within.

DAY 04: Descend the Nyiragongo Volcano and Departure to Kigali to End the tour

After eating breakfast and descending from Nyiragongo Volcano Mountain, you will meet your driver and head back to Goma. If time permits, you can have a city tour of Goma, stopping at the Goma caves before continuing.
On the final day of your tour, you have the option of flying out of Kigali or being driven back to your post-tour lodging. You will make a second stop at the Rwanda-Congo border crossing because you will be returning by the same road. You can take pictures, buy souvenirs, or just unwind before continuing on to Kigali.
