3 Days Congo Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking
You may spend time with the Eastern Lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park during this three-day Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trekking in Congo. In terms of lowland gorilla trekking, Kahuzi Biega National Park in Congo was established in 1970, and the first walk was conducted in 1973. The goal of the trek was to preserve the Grauer’s gorilla, the largest gorilla species in the world.
Day by day
DAY 01: Pick up from Kigali and Transfer to Bukavu Town in Congo
The driver will give you an overview of the safari when he picks you up from Kigali’s hotel or airport very early in the morning. After that, you will make your way to Bukavu town in Congo, where you will spend the night. The trip takes six hours.
DAY 02: Eastern Lowland Gorilla trekking in Kahuzi Biega National Park
Following an early breakfast, you will depart for the unforgettable experience of trekking with the lowland gorillas in Kahuzi Biega National Park. Tracking lowland gorillas often takes one to four hours, and trekking with them is an incredible experience. Lowland gorillas are larger than mountain gorillas. Compared to mountain gorillas, lowland gorillas live in larger families; once you see the incredible primates, you won’t regret your safari adventure! Return to your accommodation by car later in the afternoon.
DAY 03: Departure to Kigali to End the tour
Following breakfast, you will either be transported back to Kigali for your post-tour lodging or, on the final day of your tour, you can opt to go by plane. You will make a second stop at the Rwanda-Congo border crossing because you will be returning by the same road. You can take pictures, buy souvenirs, or just unwind before continuing on to Kigali.
