This itinerary offers an opportunity to explore all the major national parks in Tanzania’s Northern Safari Circuit, including three nights in Serengeti National Park. In addition, you will experience a cultural encounter with the Hadzabe tribe near Lake Eyasi.
Safari Itinerary
Day 1: Tarangire National Park
Your safari with Monumental Expeditions and Safaris begins with a morning pick-up from your hotel at 8:00 AM. You will drive to Tarangire National Park, well known for its impressive baobab trees and high density of elephants. Enjoy a game drive followed by a picnic lunch overlooking the Tarangire River, where animals often gather. Afterward, proceed to your lodge or camp for dinner and overnight.
Day 2: Lake Manyara National Park
After breakfast, you will travel to Lake Manyara National Park for a full-day game drive. This park is famous for its scenic beauty, tree-climbing lions, and a rich diversity of birdlife, especially flamingos and waterbirds around the lake. Optional activities such as a bike tour or boat ride can also be arranged. Return to your camp or lodge in the evening.
Day 3: Serengeti National Park
Depart early for Serengeti National Park, renowned for its vast open plains and remarkable wildlife, including the annual Great Migration of wildebeests and zebras. Along the way, you may encounter lions, cheetahs, elephants, and other species. Arrive at your camp for an evening at leisure.
Days 4–5: Serengeti National Park

Day 6: Serengeti to Ngorongoro Crater
Begin the day with a final morning game drive in the Serengeti, followed by brunch at the camp. Then, transfer to the Ngorongoro Conservation Area. Known as the “Eighth Wonder of the Natural World,” the Ngorongoro Crater hosts a wide range of wildlife, including the endangered black rhino. Enjoy an evening sundowner and relax at your accommodation.
Day 7: Ngorongoro Crater
Descend into the crater at sunrise for a half-day game drive on the crater floor. Enjoy a picnic lunch near Hippo Lake, followed by additional wildlife viewing. In the afternoon, ascend from the crater and drive to Lake Eyasi for an overnight stay.
Day 8: Lake Eyasi and Hadzabe Cultural Experience
Rise early for a unique cultural experience with the Hadzabe, one of the last remaining hunter-gatherer tribes in East Africa. Join the tribe in their traditional activities, such as hunting with the men or foraging with the women.
