You will have the chance to view mountain gorillas, golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park, and the Big Five animals safari in Akagera National Park on your 5 Days Rwanda Discounted Gorilla and Wildlife Tour. This five-day discounted Rwanda Gorilla & Game Safari includes fantastic scenery and bird watching. Kigali will be the starting and finishing point of an all-inclusive adventure vacation.

If you decide to reserve this tour, you will receive a 30% discount on the Rwanda Gorilla Permit, which will cost $1050 instead of $1500. This excursion is only offered annually from November to May.

Day by day

DAY 01: Transfer from Kigali to Akagera National Park

• Morning: Meet your guide and transfer to Akagera National Park (approximately 2.5-3 hours drive).
• Afternoon: Check into your lodge/camp and have lunch.
• Evening: Enjoy a sunset game drive in Akagera National Park.
• Overnight: Akagera Mantis Game Lodge or Ruzizi Tented Lodge.

DAY 02: Full-Day Safari in Akagera National Park

• Morning: Early morning game drive to spot wildlife including elephants, lions, giraffes, zebras, and various antelopes.
• Afternoon: Return to the lodge for lunch and some rest.
• Evening: Take a boat safari on Lake Ihema to see hippos, crocodiles, and a variety of bird species.
• Overnight: Akagera Mantis Game Lodge or Ruzizi Tented Lodge.

DAY 03: Transfer to Volcanoes National Park

• Morning: Have breakfast and enjoy a final short game drive as you exit Akagera National Park and Drive to Volcanoes National Park (approximately 4-5 hours drive). Check into your lodge.
• Afternoon: You will quickly stop at the Iby’Iwacu Cultural Village for a cultural tour to learn about Rwandan culture and traditions.
• Evening: Relax and prepare for the next day’s gorilla trekking.
• Overnight: Le Bamboo Gorilla lodge (Budget), Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel (Mid-range) or One & Only Gorilla Nest Lodge (Luxury).

DAY 04: Gorilla Trekking in Volcanoes National Park

• Morning: Early breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking.
• Morning By 8 am: Begin the gorilla trek, which can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the gorilla family you are tracking. Spend one hour with the Mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park once you find them.
• Evening: Return to your lodge for rest and relaxation.
• Overnight:  Le Bamboo Gorilla Lodge (Budget), Five Volcanoes Boutique Hotel (Mid-range) or One & Only Gorilla Nest Lodge (Luxury).

DAY 05: Golden Monkey Trekking after Return to Kigali for your departure flight out or drop off at the Hotel to end the Safari.

• Morning: Early breakfast and transfer to the park headquarters for a briefing on golden monkey trekking.
• Morning By 8 am: Begin the golden monkey trek, which can take anywhere from 2 to 6 hours depending on the golden monkey family you are tracking. Spend one hour with the golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park once you find them.
• Afternoon: Return to Kigali (approximately 2.5-3 hours drive).
• Evening: Depending on your flight schedule, you may have time for a city tour or visit to the Kigali Genocide Memorial before your departure.
