5 Days Chimps and Gorilla Trekking Tour.
You will visit Kibale National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park during this five-day gorilla and chimpanzee trekking safari. This is a fantastic chance to combine Chimpanzee trekking or a Habituation experience in Kibale National Park with Gorilla tracking in Bwindi Impenetrable National Park, which is home to half of the world’s endangered mountain gorillas.
One of the greatest locations in the world to see habituated wild chimpanzees is Kibale National Park. This all-inclusive tour includes return airport transfers and will begin and end in Kampala or Entebbe. Additionally, this 5-day Gorillas & Chimpanzee Trekking Safari can be tailored to your preferences, pick-up location, and financial constraints.
Day by day.
DAY 01: Pick up and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
Your driver-guide will pick you up from your Kampala/Entebbe hotel or from the Entebbe airport on this day to begin your five-day Gorillas and Chimpanzee Trekking Safari. The journey to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park is lengthy, but it is well worth it; you will see breathtaking scenery and interact with the locals. Depending on your request and time, you will have the opportunity to stop at the Equator for pictures, lunch while traveling, and other optional stops.
DAY 02: Gorilla tracking Experience in Bwindi.
After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park headquarters for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides who will assign you a gorilla family group to walk. After your group of eight is confirmed, the two ranger guides will accompany you into the deep impenetrable forest to look for endangered Mountain Gorillas. Gorillas are always searched from the previous day’s location. The famous gorillas can only be interacted with for one hour, and you must keep silence. You can capture photos, etc.
Gorilla tracking can be tough depending on the hike, which is usually influenced by weather and the gorillas’ movement in the forest, but it is well-organized, so you have a 99% chance of seeing them. Advanced trackers monitor gorilla movements all day in the jungle, so you know where they nested last night and where to look for them.
Two ranger guides will conduct you through the walk, clearing and building pathways and imparting mountain gorilla and Bwindi forest information. After the trip, you’ll return to the start to get your mountain gorilla tracking credentials in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
DAY 03: Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Have a morning game drive on the Mweya Peninsula with your car full. If not wildlife drive, visit Katwe Salt Lakes after driving to Kibale National Park with a lunch stop. Inflow includes a nature tour through the Bigodi Swamp to witness monkeys and birds. Kibale Forest National Park attracts birders and primates with 13 primate species and 335 bird species.
DAY 04: Chimpanzee Tracking and Bigodi wetland walk
After attending an early breakfast, you will be led to the Kanyanchu headquarters for a briefing regarding the track you will be running in a few hours. You will begin monitoring chimpanzees from there, but you will also get the opportunity to witness twelve other primate species, including baboons, vervet monkeys, and gray-cheeked mangabeys.
