3 Days Fly in Gorilla Trekking Tour

Our 3-day Fly-in Gorilla Trekking Safari is a quick trip to Uganda that will allow you to see the world’s endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. There are about 459 mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National area, which is home to half of the remaining mountain gorillas in their natural environment. If you visit this area, you have a 99% chance of sighting the gorillas. Flying to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip, you will then drive to Bwindi, where you will spend two nights and have time to do mountain gorilla trekking.

3 Days Fly in Gorilla Trekking Tour

Day by day

DAY 01:  Flight from Entebbe to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

On this day, your tour guide will pick you up from your Kampala/Entebbe hotel and drive you to Entebbe Airport, where you will catch your flight to Kihihi or Kisoro Airstrip. From there, you will be picked up and driven to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park, a lengthy but worthwhile drive where you will see breathtaking scenery and interact with locals.

DAY 02: Gorilla tracking Experience and Community visit.

Following breakfast at the lodge, you will go to the park headquarters to receive a briefing from ranger guides from the Uganda Wildlife Authority. They will then assign you to a gorilla family group for the day’s trekking. The two ranger guides will accompany you into the dense, impenetrable forest to begin your quest for the endangered, uncommon mountain gorilla species once your group of eight has been confirmed.

Every gorilla hunt starts at the location where they were last spotted the day before. You will only be permitted to spend an hour interacting with these well-known creatures once you get at their location, and you should always maintain the utmost silence when around gorillas. You are permitted to take pictures and so forth. During nighttime community walks in the neighboring Batwa community, you can enjoy entertainment and hear stories about their distinctive culture.

Depending on the walk that day, which is typically influenced by the weather and the gorillas’ movements in the forest, gorilla tracking can occasionally be challenging. However, because it is a highly structured activity, you have 99% of the probability of sighting the gorillas throughout your trek. In order to determine where the gorillas spent their final night in the jungle, the journey is led by highly skilled trackers who keep an eye on their movements during the day.

From there, you begin your search for them. Throughout the journey, the two ranger guides will lead you through path construction, trail cleaning, and information sharing about the Bwindi forest and mountain gorillas. You will return to the starting site at the end of the journey to pick up your certificates, which serve as proof that you were successful in tracking mountain gorillas in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.

DAY 03: Flight back to Entebbe to end your 3 Days Fly in Gorilla Trekking Safari.

You will drive back to the airfield for your flight back to Entebbe Airport after eating breakfast early in the morning. From there, you will either be taken to your hotel for dinner and the night or to the airport to depart.
