3 Day Mgahinga Gorilla Trekking Safari.

A quick gorilla trekking tour in Uganda, this 3-day trip to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park will allow you to spend time with the world’s endangered mountain gorillas. Situated in southwest Uganda, Mgahinga Gorilla National Park is an important conservation area that is a part of the broader Virunga Conservation Area, which borders Rwanda, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and Uganda.

Day by day.

Day 1: Pick up and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.

Morning:
Depart from Entebbe or Kampala early in the morning.
You can either drive (about 9-10 hours) or take a domestic flight to Kisoro Airstrip (around 1.5 hours).
Afternoon:
If flying, upon arrival at Kisoro Airstrip, you’ll be transferred to your lodge near Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
If driving, enjoy the scenic drive through the Ugandan countryside.
Evening:
Arrive at your lodge and check in.
Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

Early Morning:
After an early breakfast, head to the park headquarters for a briefing on gorilla trekking rules and guidelines.
Start the gorilla trek with experienced guides and trackers. The trek can take anywhere from 2 to 8 hours depending on the location of the gorillas.
Late Morning to Afternoon:
Spend up to one hour with the mountain gorillas once you find them, observing their behavior and taking photos.
Return to the park headquarters to receive your Gorilla Trekking certificate as a souvenir for a successful gorilla trek.
Afternoon:
Enjoy a late lunch at your lodge.
Relax and unwind after the trek or take a short nature walk around the lodge.
Evening:
Dinner and overnight stay at your lodge.

Day 3: Return to Entebbe

Morning:
After breakfast, Begin your journey back to Entebbe. If driving, it will be a full day’s drive.
If flying, transfer to Kisoro Airstrip for your flight back to Entebbe.
Evening:
Arrive in Entebbe/Kampala from drop off at your hotel or at the Entebbe Airport for your flight out to end the 3 Day Gorilla Trekking in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park.
