This 8-day Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari through Kigali will allow you to trek all of Uganda’s prime primates, such as chimpanzees in Kibale Forest National Park, mountain gorillas in Bwindi, and golden monkeys in Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You will also have time to visit Queen Elizabeth National Park for a wildlife safari to see all four of the Big Four. Beginning and ending in Kigali, this 8-day Uganda Primates and Wildlife Safari includes return airport transfers. It is an all-inclusive itinerary.

8 Days Uganda Primates and Wildlife Via KigaliDay by day

DAY 01:  Pick up from Kigali and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park

After being picked up from the airport or your accommodation in Kigali, you will drive north to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. You may choose to stop for lunch and take an optional tour of the Kigali Genocide Museum before continuing on to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park. Lake Chahafi Resort or Lake Mulehe Safari Lodge are the options for dinner and stay.

DAY 02: Golden tracking and Transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park

After breakfast in the morning, gather at the park headquarters so that park rangers may give you a briefing on the proper way to follow golden monkeys. Depending on how these human cousins walk, the unforgettable exercise in the forest could take one to nine hours. After spending no more than an hour with them, you will pick up your gorilla tracking certificates at the park headquarters before continuing on to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park.

DAY 03: Gorilla trekking

You will receive a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides at the park headquarters following breakfast at the accommodation. Following the briefing, the ranger will take you into the dense, impenetrable forest to begin your hunt for the rare and endangered mountain gorilla species. Every gorilla hunt starts at the location where they were last spotted the day before. You will only be permitted to spend an hour interacting with these well-known creatures once you get at their location, and you should always maintain the utmost silence when around gorillas. You are permitted to take pictures and so forth.
It can take you anything from three to eight hours to locate the gorillas, making it a really exhausting experience. But if you get to meet these gorillas, you’ll quickly forget the difficulties you had to overcome to locate them and instead cherish the positive experiences you will have with them. Following the encounter, you will arrive at the lodge late for dinner and spend the night there.

DAY 04: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park

It is recommended that you get up early, consume breakfast, and then check out in order to meet our driver guide. Your journey to Queen Elizabeth National Park will begin, and it will be an incredible experience. When you arrive, it will be evening, and you will check in at the lodge.

DAY 05: Morning Game Drive – Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel

To catch the early risers, have breakfast in the morning and then drive a safari vehicle over the Kasenyi plains for morning game. Elephants, buffalos, lions, leopards, bushbucks, kobs, and more are among the creatures to view.

After two to three hours of driving, head directly to Mweya for lunch at the canteen. As you prepare for the afternoon trip down the Kazinga Channel, eat lunch. Return to the lodge for dinner, rest, and overnight after the cruise.

DAY 06: Morning Drive/Visit Katwe Salt Lakes – Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park]

With everything you own in the car, go a morning game drive around the Mweya Peninsula. You continue your journey back to Kigali after the three-hour game drive. If you choose not to go game driving, you can visit the Katwe Salt Lakes after driving to Kibale National Park, stopping along the way for lunch. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to take a nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp, where you may witness the local birds and monkeys. Dinner and the night

DAY 07: Chimpanzee Tracking

After finishing an early breakfast, you will be led to the Kanyanchu headquarters for a briefing regarding the track you will be running in a few hours. From there, you will begin following chimpanzees, but you will also observe twelve other primate species, including baboons, vervet monkeys, and gray-cheeked mangabeys, among others, today.
