One of the greatest adventure excursions for anyone interested in seeing Uganda, the Pearl of Africa, is this 25-day Best of Uganda Safari. You will have the opportunity to hike and observe the Big 5 wildlife, including chimpanzees, mountain gorillas, and golden monkeys, as well as experience the adventure in Jinja, which is known as the Adventure Capital of East Africa. You will visit seven of Uganda’s ten national parks to observe wildlife and trek primates, with gorilla tracking being as the main attraction. This all-inclusive 25-day Best of Uganda Safari vacation can be tailored to your interests and will begin and end in Kampala or Entebbe. It also includes return airport transfers.
Day by day
DAY 01: Boat trip to Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary for a full day encounter
You will go to Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary to see the orphaned chimps on this day. These chimpanzees are cared for at this refuge after being rescued from all around East Africa. Depending on when you arrive, you will either be picked up from your Entebbe/Kampala hotel or from the airport. After that, you will be taken to the pier on Lake Victoria for a boat trip to the Ngamba Chimpanzee Sanctuary, where you will have the opportunity to feed the animals and learn about their stay. After dinner and overnight, you will return to Entebbe.
DAY 02: Transfer to Lake Mburo National Park for an evening game drive and overnight
You will meet your safari driver guide this morning after breakfast at your lodge. You will then drive to Lake Mburo National Park, stopping at the Equator and stopping for lunch. You will arrive at the lodge in time for an afternoon boat cruise after an evening game drive, followed by dinner and overnight. Numerous animal species, including topi, eland, klipspringer, zebra, buffalo, oribi, sitatunga, and leopard, as well as a variety of water and acacia savannah bird species, including the marabou stork, bronze-tailed starling, and Uganda’s national bird, the stunning grey-crowned crane, can be found in Lake Mburo National Park. Game drives in the morning and afternoon, guided hikes, and boat trips around the lake are just a few of the ways you may experience the park’s abundant wildlife during your stay at Lake Mburo.
DAY 03: Morning sunrise game drive and drive to Lake Bunyonyi
You will check out of your lodge after breakfast, go on a sunrise wildlife drive in the morning, and then drive to Lake Bunyonyi for supper, overnight accommodations at Bird Nest Resort Cottages, and leisurely lakeside sightseeing in the evening.
The location of Lake Bunyonyi is southwest. With its many islands and terraced hills surrounding it, Uganda is thought to be one of Africa’s deepest lakes and one of the continent’s most beautiful lakes overall. The area has been marketed as a fantastic place to unwind and chill out because of its picturesque surroundings, temperate climate, and abundance of small islands. It also provides visitors with a variety of options for things to see and do.
DAY 04: Morning boat cruise on Lake Bunyonyi and Transfer to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park
Following breakfast at the lodge, you will drive south to Mgahinga Gorilla National Park, where you will check in at the lodge in the afternoon, have supper, and spend the night on a boat ride around Lake Bunyonyi, where you will see the ancient islands.
DAY 05: Golden Monkey tracking experience and transfer to Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park
Following breakfast at the lodge, you will drive south to Bwindi, which is an impenetrable national park. You will arrive at the lodge in the afternoon to check in, have dinner, and spend the night there. After breakfast, you will go on a golden monkey tracking adventure.
DAY 06: Gorilla tracking Experience and Batwa Cultural Experience
You will drive to the park headquarters after breakfast at the accommodation for a briefing from Uganda Wildlife Authority ranger guides who will assign you a gorilla family group to walk. After your group of eight is confirmed, the two ranger guides will accompany you into the deep impenetrable forest to look for endangered Mountain Gorillas. Gorillas are always searched from the previous day’s location. The famous gorillas can only be interacted with for one hour, and you must keep silence. You can capture photos, etc.
Gorilla tracking can be tough depending on the hike, which is usually decided by weather and the gorillas’ movement in the forest, but it is highly organized, so you have a 99% chance of seeing them. Advanced trackers track mountain gorillas all day in the jungle to determine where they nested the night before, which is when you start hunting for them. Two ranger guides will conduct you through the walk, clearing and building pathways and imparting mountain gorilla and Bwindi forest information. After the trip, you’ll return to the start to get your mountain gorilla tracking credentials in Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park.
DAY 07: Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park Ishasha sector
Following breakfast, you will travel to Queen Elizabeth National Park, where you will arrive in the afternoon. There will be breaks for sightseeing and a game drive along the way. You will receive a warm welcome and be allowed to unwind after checking into the hotel. Later, you will go on an evening game drive to look for late grazers before returning to the lodge for the night.
DAY 08: Full Day Game drives in Ishasha wildernesses to search for Tree Climbing lions and other wildlife
After breakfast, you will go on game drives in the Ishasha wildernesses to look for wildlife, including tree-climbing lions. Since we are unable to schedule appointments with nature, your chances of seeing them will rely on the weather and your luck.
DAY 09: Drive to the northern part of Queen Elizabeth National Park Mweya sector.
You will travel north of the park today, arriving at noon for lunch and a game drive in the afternoon. The most well-known and varied conservation area is Queen Elizabeth National Park, which has a wide range of habitats, including grasslands, acacia woodlands, forests, wetlands, and open water. These habitats support a large number of mammals, including the Big Four, and an impressive number of bird species, which has increased to over 604 species.
DAY 10: Morning Game Drive and Afternoon Boat Cruise on Kazinga Channel
Following breakfast, you will take a morning game drive to the Kasenyi plains in order to look for wildlife and early birds. Elephants, massive herds of buffalo, lions, leopards, kobs, antelopes, bushbucks, and more are among the creatures you will witness.
After a two to three-hour morning game drive, you will drive to the Mweya Peninsula for a hot lunch, unwind, and then take an afternoon boat cruise safari on the Kazinga Channel. This boat ride is well worth the money and is regarded as the highlight of your safari in Queen Elizabeth National Park. You will have the opportunity to see a variety of wildlife as they enjoy the channel’s shores, including hippos swimming and different bird species. Return to the lodge for dinner, rest, and overnight after the cruise.
DAY 11: Morning Chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, afternoon community visit, evening game drive and sundowner
After breakfast today, you’ll go chimpanzee tracking in Kyambura Gorge, where you’ll also have the opportunity to see other primates and bird species and learn more about the gorge. After returning to your lodge for lunch and rest, you’ll go on a community visit that includes schools, where you can give the kids educational materials. After that, you’ll go on a game drive along the way and return to your lodge for dinner and overnight.
DAY 12: Morning Drive/Visit Katwe Salt Lakes and Transfer to Kibale Forest National Park
Following your break, you will drive to Kibale National Park, stopping along the way for lunch, and then you will see Katwe Salt Lakes. Upon arrival, you will have the opportunity to take a nature walk in the Bigodi Swamp, where you may witness the local birds and monkeys.
With approximately 335 bird species and 13 primate species, Kibale Forest National Park is a well-liked destination for both birdwatchers and primatologists.
DAY 13:Chimpanzee Tracking in Kibale Forest National Park
You will drive to Kibale National Park Headquarters after breakfast at your accommodation to meet your day’s guides and start tracking chimpanzees. An early morning hike into the forest to see wild chimpanzees and several other primates in their natural habitat will be accompanied by knowledgeable guides, researchers, and trackers. They will walk you through the entire tracking process and give you the chance to spend four hours within meters of these entertaining and gregarious apes, partaking in their everyday activities and sharing in their lives. There are only an estimated 5,000 chimpanzees left in Uganda, making them our closest cousins and most endangered species.
Please be aware that while chimpanzees are quite mobile and forage throughout the forest, tracking them can be somewhat taxing. Furthermore, as chimpanzees are wild animals, sightings are not always guaranteed.
DAY 14:Transfer to Budongo forest, close to Murchison Falls NP
After breakfast this morning, you will drive to Budongo Forest, stopping along the way for photos and sightseeing. You will also have lunch on route. You will arrive at the lodge in the late afternoon for check-in, supper, and overnight. Located on the outskirts of Murchison Falls National Park, Budongo Forest is home to chimpanzees, baboons (who will greet you when you arrive), monkeys, a variety of bird species, and other wildlife.
DAY 15:Morning chimpanzee tracking and Birding after lunch Transfer to Murchison Falls National Park via a visit to the top of the falls and an en-route game drive to your lodge for overnight
Following your return to your lodge for check-out, have lunch, and drive to Murchison Falls National Park for overnight at Pakuba Safari Lodge. You will have an en route visit to the top of the falls and an evening game drive to look for late grazers before returning to your lodge for dinner and overnight. Today, you will go chimpanzee tracking along the trek, where you will have the opportunity to see a variety of bird species.
DAY 16:Morning game drive and afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls
Following breakfast, you will embark on your morning game drive, which will give you the chance to see antelopes, hippos, buffaloes, giraffes, and, if you’re lucky, cats like lions and leopards. After lunch, head back to the lodge before continuing to the pier for your two-hour boat ride to the base of the falls, where you will see the Nile River squeeze itself into a narrow gorge before exploding out, creating a once-in-a-lifetime experience. During your cruise, you will also see a variety of wild animals, including elephants, hippos, birds, and reptiles.
DAY 17:Morning Delta cruise and afternoon game drive
Take a breakfast-on-board sail downstream on the cold, still early waters this morning. This three to five-hour trip offers a rare chance to see uncommon birds and animals including hippo, elephants, and huge crocodiles. It is home to a broad range of wetland and papyrus indigenous bird species, including the elusive shoebill stork. As the Nile River meanders toward Lake Albert, visitors can take in the ever-changing landscape as they pass through the heart of Murchison Falls National Park. Game Drive #2: North Bank To try to see any species you missed the first time, go on another game drive after lunch, or late afternoon if you’d like.
DAY 18:Transfer to Kidepo National Park for an evening game drive
You will connect to Kidepo National Park, Uganda’s largest park, today. Along with the possibility of meeting Karamajong people arriving in Kidepo in the evening to unwind at the Lodge or on a quick evening wildlife drive, you may also come across various seasonal springs and rivers that are frequently bridged by bridges.
DAY 19:Full day Game drives in Kidepo National Park
Since the species that live in the Narus and Kidepo valleys differ, you will be on game drives in both of them today. The Narus Valley The Narus Valley is a grassy, undulating plain surrounded by far-off mountains. The park’s wildlife gathers in the valley, which has permanent water, for a large portion of the year. As a result, the region has plenty of game tracks, including four loop circuits that explore the valley surrounding Apoka. The valley is home to several animals, including lions, Jackson’s hartebeest, buffaloes, giraffes, oribis, and reedbucks.
Leopards and cheetahs are less frequently sighted. Particularly in the dry season, the Narus dam and the water hole close to the Tourism Center make excellent animal watching spots. Katurum kopje, the location of a former lodge, is a charming location near the southern end of the Katurum loop. It offers breathtaking views of the Morungule mountain range across the valley to the north. Valley of Kidepo There isn’t much wildlife in Kidepo Valley for the most of the year due to a lack of surface water, but it’s still worth the drive to see the dry Kidepo River and take a walk along its 50-meter-wide bed of white sand between borassus-palm-lined banks.
DAY 20:Full Day Game drives in Kidepo National Park
On your second day, you will spend the entire day on game drives in Kidepo Valley National Park. You will have the opportunity to look for animals that you missed the day before.
DAY 21:Visiting Karamajog villages to explore the local cultures and Transfer to Gulu for overnight to break the journey for the next day
You will return to Narus Valley for a morning wildlife drive following an early breakfast. As you continue the drives, try to keep an eye out for the same creatures; you can run into other species. As you make your way to the Karamajong settlement, you will come to the Kidepo River. Because of the hills that encircle the valley, the panorama is breathtaking. The people of Karamajogo. As cattle keepers who adore their animals, the Karamajongo are well-known. Before you drive to Gulu for dinner and the night, you can visit their homesteads, known as the Manyatas, where they will dance for you and share their culture.
DAY 22:Transfer to Ziwa Rhino sanctuary for on foot Rhino tracking, lunch and overnight.
Driving to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary today will allow you to track rhinos on foot, enjoy a nice lunch, and optionally visit a school where you can give various goods. Dinner and overnight stay will follow.
DAY 23:Transfer to Jinja for a boat cruise to the source of River Nile and overnight
Following breakfast, you will travel to Jinja, a town located on the shores of Lake Victoria in Central Uganda. A garden and a monument dedicated to British explorer John Hanning Speke mark the source of the Nile at Coronation Park. The Nile is widely recognized as the world’s longest river. Its origin begins in Jinja, Uganda.
DAY 24:Full day Jinja Adventure, white water rafting and Horse riding plus a short Jinja tour and later have an optional night life in Jinja

DAY 25:Transfer back to Entebbe/Kampala for drop off at your hotel or at the airport
Your tour will come to a close today when you travel back to your resort for a drop-off at Entebbe/Kampala or Entebbe International Airport, depending on when your flight departs.
